Archaeology and restoration
This project involved structural restoration of a Roman settlement that began to develop in the Augustan era (end of the First century B.C.) along the route that traversed the mountains on the Via Claudia Augusta, went up the Isarco valley toward Brenner Pass and connected the Cisalpine territories with the alpine provinces of Raetia and Noricum. With the scientific supervision of the Authority for Archaeological Heritage of the Province of Bolzano, TECTON took part in this finely balanced operation of archaeology and restoration of red marble architectural elements, residential spaces, workshops, and a brick kiln. Particular attention was dedicated to architectural restoration of walls that were still standing.
